How to Choose, Bachelors or Masters:

• How much do you already know about crystal healing in general? You need to have several years of experience with general crystal healing to do the Masters Certification.
• What is your level of interest in specifically becoming a Crystal Surgery practitioner? You need to feel very interested and motivated to commit to the Masters Course. If you’re not sure, there is no hurry. You can begin with the Bachelors this year and continue with the Masters the following year.
• How much time can you allocate to studying this on a weekly basis? This is the BIG question to answer. The Masters Course is a big weekly time commitment with a high professional standard.

Myth: Anyone can practice crystal healing

Anyone can learn crystal healing, but practicing as a crystal healer does require training. Mastering the art of crystal healing requires ample knowledge and learning. There are so many different types of crystals having unique properties. Any information on the internet is limited, and might even be misleading. If you want to become a crystal healer, you can undertake an online course, from a recognized teacher, to become certified. Crystal healing is not necessarily “harmless” and crystal healing, especially on others, can produce unwanted effects. The worst harm can come from not getting the right qualified and help in time. For medical conditions, it is important to consult the right doctors, get correct diagnoses and get appropriate care. All Healers should always be aware and responsible, and avoid any possibility of being accused of medical malpractice.

Fact: Crystal healing is a complementary and supportive therapy to medical techniques

Scientists and medical professionals refer to crystal healing as pseudoscience as there is no peer reviewed evidence to verify its efficacy for curing specific diseases. Studies show that using crystals and other gemstones for therapy has a positive influence on health; yet, scientists believe that it is partially due to the placebo effect. The use of crystals to facilitate healing is an ancient practice, which propagated more than 6000 years ago. However, modern treatments are inspired by traditional Asian concepts, such as the Chinese ‘chi/qi’ (life-energy), and the Buddhist/Hindu ‘chakras’.

Myth: Crystals are magic rocks

No such crystal or rock exists, which may be infused with magical or supernatural powers. Crystal healing will not miraculously eliminate your illness or cure you immediately. Neither can crystals be used to control someone’s mind or heart. Similar to other alternative therapies, it takes time to bring a change. Anxiety, depression, grief, and physical pain are the root cause of many health problems. Crystal healing is a tool that helps attain some peace and positivity in your life. It helps ward off negative energy, which ultimately mitigates stress and pain.

Fact: Crystals healing corresponds to energy centers of the body

During crystal healing therapies, rocks or gems are placed at particular pressure points of the body. Therefore, the placement is just as important as the crystal itself. The contact of the crystal with our body stimulates physical, emotional, and psychological effects. Moreover, different minerals are associated with unique effects; for instance, green aventurine is considered good for the heart and yellow topaz is known to clear the mind. Healers are aware of the specific properties, and thus treat every patient accordingly.

Crystal Surgery Training

Crystal Surgery is a new style of crystal healing, founded in the 1990’s by Vivien Schapera.

In Crystal Surgery, the crystals are used in very specific ways as tools for “operating” on both the energy field and the energy body. The energy field is the electromagnetic force field, which emanates from the physical body and the energy body, and surrounds the physical body. The energy body is the energetic duplicate of the physical body and is made up of etheric tissue. Etheric tissue consists of “materials” from the etheric dimension, in contrast to the physical body, which is made up of materials from the earthly dimension.

Originally, the Crystal Surgery techniques were comprised mostly of procedures for “operating.” The Healer holds and uses the crystals like scalpels and other surgical instruments, and applies the crystals to skills such as scraping, cutting, cleaning, suctioning and stitching.

Crystals are an ideal instrument for such activities: Imagine that you are a chef and you have a magical knife. This magical knife can sense the food properties as it cuts, and as it senses, it can also deliver the precise ingredients that will balance and harmonize the flavors of the entire dish you are creating. And that is not all! Additionally the knife can develop a bond with you, and begin to communicate telepathically, giving you all manner of salient information. Well, that is what crystals can do in Crystal Surgery! Crystals can be used as tools for specific “surgical”actions, whilst they simultaneously adjust wavelength and chemistry.

At the time of founding, the Crystal Surgery syllabus evolved into 2 manuals – one for operating on the energy field and one for operating on the energy body. Vivien then considered how most healers learn how to “fix what’s broken.” But, based on her extensive experience of working one-on-one with people, she realized that Healing requires additional capacities. In response to this insight, Vivien developed a  3rd manual which consists of a set of advanced protocols, for energetically removing “what doesn’t belong” (de-imprinting) and adding “what’s missing” (imprinting.)

The Crystal Surgery body of knowledge continues to grow. From 2013 to 2015, 2 new manuals of crystal healing techniques were developed, and in 2015 the first set of instructors were trained to share this information. Currently there are instructors in the USA, Canada and South Africa. Students who have trained in Crystal Surgery have also begun to contribute to the body of knowledge, by adding their insights, and developing techniques of their own.
