This is the part of the show where I, Vivien, talk to and about crystals and our crystal guest today is Emerald.

Emerald is one of the big four.

In the animal kingdom we have the big five and I know this well having just been on safari again and the big five are lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and buffalo.

In the mineral kingdom we have four precious gems, diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds.

Now it’s quite interesting I’ve been looking at what AI says about this, that and the other because you know you’ve got to check up on what AI is coming up with.

So I looked up the you know where the emerald is a precious stone knowing that the answer is yes but I wanted to see what AI says and this is what AI said:

Yes an emerald is considered a precious stone along with diamonds, rubies and sapphires.

Emeralds are one of the four traditional precious gemstones according to gem and jewelry resources.

This classification is based on factors like rarity, durability and beauty.

While other gemstones exist these four have historically been the most sought after and valuable.

Now depending which one of these four I am thinking about I can easily say oh yes that’s my favorite about each and every one of them but perhaps just perhaps emerald is my favorite.

Moldovite: Make Sense of Life from Your Soul’s Perspective

 

Hello and welcome back to The Schapera Show where Viv and Neil explore this big adventure called Life. This is the part of the show where I talk to stones and about stones, and our stone guest today is Moldavite. Moldavite isn’t actually earthly, but a tektite – which means it is extraterrestrial material that formed from meteoritic action. Moldavite is one of those minerals that comes from only one location, and in this instance, that location is the Czech Republic.

I think I would like to share how Moldavite got chosen as today’s guest. We just got back from a long trip and I didn’t know which stone to choose for this show. I walked around the house looking at stones but got no clear inspiration. “I know,” I thought, “I will just open Melody’s book and see who is on the page that the book opens to,” and on that page was Moldavite. Perfect! I use Moldavite in a number of ways just generally and also in Crystal Surgery.

The first way in which I engage the properties of Moldavite is as a protective stone that I wear. Moldavite has an extremely high vibrational frequency that many can detect just by holding the stone. What one may experience, if sensitive to this kind of thing, is a buzzing sensation throughout one’s body. This is the effect of Moldavite raising your vibrational frequency. Interestingly enough, the way that Moldavite is protective is that via its high frequency it sets up a screen in your energy field so that lower vibrational dynamics, like psychic attack, cannot penetrate. This is ideal because we want our energy fields to be permeable to positive dynamics even whilst protecting us from the negative. This screen is in contrast to say Peridot, which sets up a wall, preventing all exchanges of energy. Before jumping to any conclusions about which is better, remember that sometimes we want and need a wall. “Better” depends on the situation and there is no measure other than “appropriateness.”

I have found that faceted Moldavite has a better propensity for setting up this fast-vibrating screen than a raw stone. You can wear Moldavite as earrings, a pendant, a bead necklace and a ring. It is better if the Moldavite is not in a pocket, or hidden under clothes, but visible, in the open and able to refract and reflect the light.

Guest Post: Balancing Mood Disorders Through Crystal Energy Alignment

 

A person is, at any given moment, an arrangement of forces. Chemical, neurological, electromagnetic. A body conducting itself. A mind arranging itself. The result? Mood. Something that settles in and lingers, shifting slowly or not at all. When it misaligns, you get mood disorders: depression, bipolar disorder, a whole hefty clinical lexicon of imbalances. The conventional arsenal – medications, therapy, lifestyle adjustments – covers the usual ground. But beyond the pharmacological and psychological, there are other methods. It is more ancient and less charted. One of these does its work by balancing mood disorders through crystal energy alignment; it suggests that the right stones, correctly placed, might harmonize a person’s internal resonance and nudge them back toward equilibrium. Let’s take a closer look!

What are mood disorders?

Before discussing mood disorders, we must first define mood, this time with more precision than the introduction above allowed. In simplest terms, mood is a prolonged emotional state that colors how we see the world. Moods shape our perception for days, weeks, or more while refusing to dissipate. Now, if these moods become persistently negative or interfere with daily functioning, we step into the territory of what medical professionals, including Sekhon and Gupta, categorize as mood disorders.

According to their research, we can label a variety of conditions as mood disorders. The most common are major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder. Each condition has distinct characteristics, but they share their ability to distort emotional regulation. Depression can flatten the world into a black-and-gray Rothko painting, while mania can exaggerate feelings and turn the mundane into the unbearable or the euphoric. There is a biological basis for these disorders, certainly. On the other hand, there is also an increased interest in how the body’s energy systems interact with these emotional states – a cue for crystals to enter our modest discussion.

Azurite – Don’t be Afraid of the Truth

 

Hello and welcome back to The Schapera Show where Viv and Neil explore this big adventure called Life. This is the part of the show where I, Vivien, talk to crystals and talk about crystals. Today, I’m talking to a long-time favorite of mine, Azurite. Azurite is the most astonishing, intense blue color. Perhaps this is why Azurite is one of my favorite stones – because its color is one of my favorite colors.

It’s a good thing that Azurite is so attractive because it is quite the taskmaster. When you first read what Melody has to say about Azurite, you think: “Oh, that’s fantastic!” For example, Melody says: “Azurite is known as a ‘stone of heaven.’ It stimulates the pursuit of the heavenly self, providing for guidance via the third-eye and allowing for precise verbalization of psychic experiences.” (p. 128) She then goes on to say that Azurite provides for insight into all areas of one’s life.” (p. 128) Sounds fabulous, doesn’t it? Well, maybe not so much. Here’s the rub – getting insight into all areas of one’s life is darn confronting. Yes, Azurite does do all that, and more, but at a cost – the cost of self-awareness. And in case you haven’t noticed this yet, self-awareness can be very, very demanding, plus, self-awareness comes with a big responsibility – the responsibility to do something about it.

Spirit Report: To Meet a Spirit in Tree Form

 

Sharing with you, my Shamanic Journeys to the Spirit Realm, and reporting back on the guidance I receive directly from the Spirits

The purpose of this journey is to travel to the Spirit Realm of the Lower World to request the Spirits that they have me meet a Spirit in Tree Form

I’m going to travel to the Lower World and my usual entrance way to start going to the Lower World is actually by going into a hollowed out Tree trunk. I step in and on the floor is where I find this energy portal opening that I go through, and immediately find myself floating, down in the darkness of space, to the Lower World.

I land in a familiar lake which has many hippos in it, and I’m able to get on the back of a hippo, and it swims me to the shore. I’m looking into a woods, a wooded area. I walk towards it putting out my request that I meet and interact with a Tree Spirit.

There’s a pathway that’s created by small stones or small rocks, that are guiding me in a certain direction, and I’m reminded that stones or rocks have an intelligence, and a consciousness, and they’re doing something helpful here, That’s a bit of information that’s given to me to understand and appreciate that the Spirit World is a helpful place – it’s a place of assistance. The Spirits are saying don’t be dumb, the Spirit World is there to help, to assist, to guide.

Sunstone for crystal healing | Self healed crystals

 

Sunstone says we should begin by going over “empathic resonance.” As human beings, when we are functioning within the normal range of the bell curve, we are designed to empathize with our fellow humans. Empathy means that we can identify and resonate with a fellow human’s emotions – in a nutshell, we can feel what another is feeling. When the empathic resonance is one-on-one, it should be mild enough to manage just via recognizing that the emotion belongs to another (or it’s an overreaction). But, when the collective is feeling an emotion, let’s say like disappointment, en masse, then an empath is going to get swamped by these feelings of disappointment. This “swamp” is like a wet blanket on the energy field and prevents the free flow of energy up and down the chakra system. Last time we talked about Scolecite’s contribution to dissolving the wet blanket and this time we’re going to talk about Sunstone’s contribution.

As I infuse the Sunstone/Scolecite combo into the first layer of the energy field, which is done by rubbing the stones on the physical body (incidentally you can do this for yourself at home), I can literally feel the flow of energy begin to ease from the second chakra toward the feet and rise from the second chakra toward the head. This is a remarkable sensation and it is accompanied by a kind of sigh in the energy system, similar to the involuntary sigh we make upon lifting a heavy box. At the same time as the energy system sighs, the client’s face falls into a smile. This is lovely to watch and it gives me a kick every time.

Scolecite: A Stone for becoming Unstuck, Grounded, and to Reach across Dimensions

Hello and welcome back to The Schapera Show, this is the part of the show where I, Vivien, talk to and about crystals.

Our crystal guest today is Scolecite.

Scolecite grows in blade-like white, transparent crystal clusters. Scolecite does apparently come in other colors, but I haven’t seen this for myself. What I have seen, is Scolecite that has been polished into lingams, spheres and wands and it is hard to believe that this is the same material. However, I am very grateful for these lapidated tools, because Scolecite is quite brittle so the crystals break off the cluster very easily, and cause splinters that can hurt your hands.

I find myself using Scolecite in almost every session because it has some excellent healing properties. When I looked in Melody’s book, for the first time in twenty-five years, I was disappointed. There just wasn’t that much information. Actually, the reason why I’m talking about Scolecite today, is because it is the final mineral in the pranic tube adjustment that I have been talking about over the past few shows.

Let’s first review what the pranic tube is. The pranic tube is the most fundamental layer of the energy system. Many of us are familiar with the chakra system, and we talk about “opening” chakras, but I suspect that firstly, most people don’t really understand much detail regarding “opening” chakras; and secondly that they don’t know much else about energy anatomy. As I was finishing the Crystal Surgery textbook, I “discovered” the layer of the energy system that I’m calling the pranic tube. 

I researched who had said what about this energy system structure and confirmed that by slightly different names, others reference this entity. The pranic tube is the tube of connection running from chakra to chakra. In other words, the pranic tube is the energetic equivalent of the spinal column in physical anatomy. The chakras emanate from the pranic tube, and when we “open” chakras, we are adjusting the spin of the chakra, the rate of the spin, the size of the spin and the direction. What we’re trying to do is get the chakras to spin in harmony with each other, in a balanced relationship. It is a good question to ask what this has to do with “opening.” Well, an open versus a closed chakra, isn’t like the open and closed of a door, but like the open and closed of a mind. If a mind is closed, it isn’t interacting with the environment and the incoming stimuli. If a mind is open, it is receiving, listening, learning, adjusting — and that’s what we want when we open the chakras — we want the energy system to receive, listen, learn and adjust. The way into the energy system is via the vortexes that we call the chakras.
