Kyanite: Aligns the Chakras so excellently

Hello and welcome back to The Schapera Show. This is the part of the show where I speak to rocks, and rocks speak back to me. Today we’re talking to Kyanite.

Kyanite is one of those stones that I have mixed feelings about. There aren’t many such stones, but Kyanite is one of them. When I ask myself why I have mixed feelings about this stone, the answer that comes to mind is: “Because Kyanite is messy.” And what do I mean by this? Well, if you sort through a pile of Blue Kyanite, you’re actually going to end up with crumbly bits, flaking, and of all things, splinters! Because I’m attracted to crystals that I can hold in my hand and use as tools, getting splinters from my healing tool is definitely not a desirable dynamic. On the other hand, having said that, when I find a nice Blue Kyanite blade, that is more stable and smooth, I have to admit that it is a very, very nice feeling.

Blue Kyanite has some very interesting properties. Firstly, Kyanite is one of the few minerals that doesn’t collect negativity and I think this is because of its second fascinating property which is that it opens and aligns chakras with the greatest of ease. In fact, Kyanite is famous for this. When there is such a positive directional flow from a stone, there is no opportunity for negativity to invade.

Now although I tend to think that “I don’t like” Kyanite, it’s not actually true. Some of my favorite tools are made of Kyanite. There is an excellent Crystal Surgery technique that engages Garnet and Green Kyanite. This combination can push a stuck thought out of your head by detecting the thought wave pattern in the energy field. The Garnet pushes the pattern out of the energy field and the Green Kyanite creates a suction effect pulling the pattern out of the energy field and working together they expel the pattern.

Another favorite tool is my Orange Kyanite Wand. Most Orange Kyanite comes in itty bitty pieces that aren’t easy to hold and use, but I managed to find a nice, robust piece with some heft and length. This stone taught me how to peel back layers in the energy body in order to access an earlier time — either in this lifetime or a previous one. Once the Orange Kyanite had shown me how this layering works, and how it can be peeled back to give access, I was able to engage less rare stones to assist in this process, so that my students could also follow the technique.

Once I settled on Kyanite as the stone of the month, I went down to my school, where all the crystals are stored, and took a look in the boxes of Kyanite to see who wanted to talk to me. Two little stones volunteered for the job — one is a sweet little tool with an excellent handhold and active point, and the other is a flat blade of Kyanite. Let’s find out what they have to say!

The flat blade says: “Haha, you don’t like me, because I’m just like life itself — all kinds of layers that can get tangled and twisted, causing frustration and even pain. But when the layers settle, and align, then I am smooth, calm and a thing of beauty. This is the consciousness that I carry and share. If you add Blue Kyanite to a chakra layout, I will inject this energy of alignment in a way that no other stone can. Also, my best talent is the way that I can work together with other stones, greatly enhancing and amplifying their effect.”

Wow! I have to admit that’s true because I just experienced this dynamic. I have a palm stone that is a mixture of Fuchsite, Ruby and Blue Kyanite and when I infused the energy of this palm stone into my chakras, I felt something brand new — a surge of energy went through me as if I had just drunk a caffeinated beverage, but without any jitteriness.

The Blue Kyanite with the active point has something different to say: “I’m the equivalent of a rose in the plant kingdom. A rose is known for its extreme beauty, and also for its thorns. Like a rose, I can prick you; and like a rose, I can stimulate your consciousness in a unique way. I affect the mind in ways that cannot be put into words. The dynamic is one of “respect.” If you want to truly progress in your consciousness, it is essential to do so with respect. In the same way as we handle roses and Blue Kyanite with respect for their thorniness, we should handle life and other people with respect for their nature. No one is all good or all bad. All people have their thorns, and all life situations have their downsides — even success. Proceeding without due respect can be downright dangerous. Humans need to learn how to have respect for Nature, for others, for the planet and very importantly, for what they don’t know.”

Hmm, I think Blue Kyanite is actually taking a little dig at me!!! I feel a little ashamed because I clearly haven’t had enough respect for Blue Kyanite, but I’m going to change my ways. Now that I understand more, I’m definitely going to engage Blue Kyanite in more healing sessions and see what this amazing catalyst has to offer. As I think this, I hear Blue Kyanite emphasizing that “it’s all about the layers. It’s the layers. Pay more attention to the layers.” This seems a little cryptic to me, but we’ll see how this pans out in application. I am aware that one set of layers is what we are all familiar with — the layers of body, mind and spirit, or physical, mental and energetic. But I think Blue Kyanite means more than this. I will proceed with respect and see what I discover.

Reading as a Way of Healing : Vivien Writes in Relatable Voice Magazine

When Vivien was at writing school, one of the books we all read was Writing as a Way of Healing: How Telling Our Stories Transforms Our Lives by Louise DeSalvo. Yes, this is definitely true,

and it is equally true that reading stories transforms
our lives. It was this insight that prompted Vivien to
write Everyday Magic, sharing her life stories as a
case study, so that others would see their own lives
through a different lens — the lens of magic.

Creating Positivity and Peace — 7 Amazing Crystals for Your Home

Your home is your safe haven, the place you go to recharge and be at peace, so naturally keeping this space safe will become your priority. Sometimes threats in our home are not physical, they can be energetic as well.

Like burglar bars and alarm systems which protect you from physical harm, crystals are believed to have strong qualities that protect your home’s energy and spiritual atmosphere. This guide will take you through seven crystals you could place in your home to generate a peaceful and positive environment.

To get a better understanding of crystals and their spiritual effect, it is helpful if you understand your body in the energetic sense.

Understanding Your Body

Our bodies often play a role in what manifests into our physical environment/reality. For example, if you are often stressed and plagued by negative thoughts, that negativity infuses your whole life. Think about how thought precedes manifestation: How many times have you thought about either an object or a person, and then very shortly afterwards you see that object, or hear from that person? Yes, it happens to us all the time!

That is why it is essential to monitor your mind, your thoughts and your heart because very often what happens around us synchronizes with our energy. Although you cannot stop yourself from having a negative thought, the important step to take is to consciously and consistently follow the negative thoughts with positive thoughts.

Thoughts are the familiar manifestations of the brain and mind and on their own, thoughts are neutral. However, their quality — whether they are negative or positive, destructive or constructive, depends on our energy. The best-known components of our human energy system are the chakras.

The 7 Chakras

Chakras are described as energy centers in your body, specifically situated along a central column. In the most commonly recognized chakra map, taken from the Vedic culture, there are seven chakras, namely; the root, sacral, solar plexus, heart, throat, third eye and the crown chakra. The chakras are also numbered from one to seven, with the root chakra being the first chakra and the crown chakra being the seventh. Additionally, the chakras have specific rainbow colors associated with them: Red for root, orange for sacral, yellow for solar plexus, green and pink for heart, sky-blue for throat, navy blue/indigo for third eye and violet for crown.

In accordance with these chakra colors, let’s have a look at seven chakra-matched crystals you could have in your home in order to generate a positive and peaceful environment, while simultaneously strengthening your energy.

The Black Tourmaline

In order to invite positivity in your home, you have to antidote the negativity. This is where Black Tourmaline comes in.

It’s so easy to get consumed by the woes and mishaps of the day that you even bring them home with you. This stone has restorative powers to remind you that it’s just a bad day, not a bad life! It’s recommended to place this crystal close to your windows and doors so that it can neutralize these negative feelings and make you feel grounded and at peace when you enter your home.

This stone is connected to your root chakra, which is the element of your energy responsible for your sense of stability and security. So the Black Tourmaline will ensure that you truly feel at home and safe, as one should feel in their home.

Carnelian

Coming home to a happy environment filled with laughter and warmth is truly a rewarding feeling, especially after a long day. Carnelian is a crystal that invites joy and warmth in your home.

This is a great stone to have in your home if you’ve been feeling unmotivated and emotionally numb, as it fills your space with creative energy and heightens your self-worth. You can also place it in your office when you need to get those creative juices flowing. Living in a space that is aesthetically appealing helps to reignite your creativity. The convenience of crystal home decor is that you are able to protect your home while making it look good at the same time!

Carnelian strengthens your sacral chakra, which is responsible for your creativity, emotional intensity and your ability to experience pleasure. So when this crystal is in effect, the space you live in will be energized, offering you a lighter heart, even playfulness and laughter.

Citrine

It’s bright yellow color represents the joy, optimism and endless possibilities that we feel when the sun shines on our skin after a period of darkness or cold. To bring positivity in your home, your mood needs to be elevated and a sense of welcome should fill the air. The Citrine crystal invites optimism and opportunity into your home.

With this crystal, your solar plexus chakra will be heightened, which is the energy that regulates your self worth and confidence. The warmth of the citrine will ignite your drive and assist you in connecting with your highest self.

Rose Quartz

Often when you live with others, there’s bound to be some conflict, making your home feel like a battlefield. The soft pink color of the Rose Quartz exudes gentleness and compassion which balances, and even releases, all that tension.

This crystal acts as a healing agent and encourages everyone in the space to become more grounded in love and compassion. Your home can become a haven of empathy, trust and healing, as arguments and quarrels recede, even perhaps becoming a thing of the past.

Your heart chakra will find solace in the Rose Quartz. The heart chakra regulates your emotions, ensuring that you don’t act impulsively based on them, potentially causing conflict with those around you. It also provides you with empathy and compassion. Love and compassion are powerful emotions and when they are felt deeply and truly inside you, your space will reflect that energy as well.

Blue Lace Agate

For harmony to exist in your home and your life in general, you need to be an effective communicator so that those around understand you, keeping conflict and misunderstanding to a minimum. This in turn will create a calming and peaceful aura in your home.

Blue Lace Agate is a soothing agent that encourages calm but effective communication. It also calms nerves, especially for those who have a phobia of public speaking. You can also have it with you as a necklace or a subtle bracelet when you deliver a big presentation.

It is even worth placing Blue Lace Agate in your bedroom, so your subconscious mind can grasp the principles of effective communication, even whilst the calming benefits offer you a good night’s sleep.

Being able to speak your truth in a calm and concise manner is a liberating feeling, especially if you weren’t able to do this before. You will feel a sense of calmness and belonging when you enter your home as the unblocking of your throat chakra will help you thrive in your individualism and your truth.

Amethyst

Amethyst is usually associated with the crown chakra, which is violet, like Amethyst. But Amethyst can also be used as a third eye stone, and in the home, this is an excellent us — because large, room-energizing Amethysts are readily available at decent prices.

It is essential for one to strive to be in touch with their spirituality as much as possible, as the level at which you meet yourself spiritually will determine the trajectory of your life. Amethyst aims at connecting you to the best version of your spiritual self.

This crystal caters for serene thinking and a calm, peaceful mind which will be highly beneficial for those who want to embrace their higher self. Your mind is at its most powerful when it’s in a calm, tranquil state, as your intuition gets heightened.

This crystal is responsible for intuition and enlightenment of the mind, which is a characteristic of the third eye chakra. Having this in your space will help to counteract the negative emotions attached to anxiety and fear.

Clear Quartz

As a spiritual being, you have the power to manifest your own reality through writing your own script. Clear Quartz helps one achieve this, by clarifying thoughts and emotions, wants and desires.

Clear Quartz has a very important job — to facilitate the balancing of the highest, most spiritual of the seven chakras, the crown chakra. Since this crystal promotes clear, positive thinking, it strengthens the crown chakra. That clarity and calm will be incorporated into your home.

A Crystal Clear State Of Mind

The most powerful chakra being located at the top of your head, governing the mind and nervous system, shows just how important a calm, strong state of mind is. To reach this powerful state of mind, one has to ensure that their chakras are balanced, and that their home is protected. Having a better understanding of which of your chakras may be blocked may assist you greatly in choosing which crystals to have in your home. Once you get this right, you will be able to live a wholesome life as a spiritually enlightened being.

Howlite: The Most Underrated Stone Ever!

Match the color that you wear to your inner vibrational frequency.

Welcome back to The Schapera Show, where Viv and Neil explore this big adventure called Life. This is the part of the show where I, Vivien, talk to crystals and today we are talking to Howlite. While we are all running around oohing and aahing over expensive crystals like Tourmaline and Aquamarine, there is a freely available, inexpensive option that is unbelievably versatile and powerful and it is called “Howlite.”

Howlite has to be the most underrated stone ever. Its appearance is pleasant enough — to me it looks a little bit like the marble we see on kitchen countertops — white with grey veins, but its effect is phenomenal!

Let’s first talk about Howlite’s versatility. It is so versatile, that it gets dyed and sold as: Turquoise, Lapis, Sodalite, Aventurine and Sugilite. There are two aspects to dyeing a stone. The first is to resemble the other stone — so that means the end buyer can be fooled into thinking the Howlite is one of these other stones, Turquoise for example, because of what it looks like. But let’s remember, we all ultimately decide on buying a stone, not because of what it looks like — even if this is the initial attraction — but because of how it feels. And if we look up the most sought-after properties of Turquoise, Lapis, Sodalite, Aventurine and Sugilite we discover that lo and behold — Howlite has those properties too!

Here’s an example of how Howlite is underrated: Melody says in her Mineral Encyclopedia: “Howlite has been used to eliminate pain, stress and rage; hence it is quite nice to have around.” (p.364) I mean really!!! What more can we want — and then all Howlite gets is a “quite nice,” instead of a “pretty darn spectacular!”

So, what are these spectacular properties that Howlite has? Howlite:

  • Supports reason, observation and patience, as well as memory and the pursuit of knowledge — thereby supporting the intellect
  • Antidotes over-critical behaviors, selfishness, and facetiousness
  • Supports emotional balance
  • Builds “innate decency,” paving the path to spirituality

Additionally, Howlite can “lessen both rudeness and boisterousness, and can further provide for a reflection of the offender to the offender. It discourages impertinent behavior and encourages subtlety and tact.” p.364

Physiologically, Howlite is also good for balancing calcium and helping issues with teeth, bone and soft tissue.

In summary, Howlite positively affects us physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually — which is why it can be disguised, with mere dye, as a host of significant stones. Bottom line: Don’t throw your dyed stones out just because they are dyed, your dyed stones are quite probably Howlite, a dignified contender.

When I ask Howlite what it wants to say to you all, it is quite clear: “Ask yourself: “Am I being underrated by myself or others? The answer is probably ‘yes.’”

And then, in a very surprising twist, Howlite adds: “There is a saying: ‘The clothes maketh the man.’ This is true! I become appreciated and recognized when I am dyed a different color, because that is when my core traits — my true value — become perceived.

“Choose your clothes to reflect your inner nature and you will enjoy life even more. The principle is to have to your clothes match your inner vibrational frequency so that you both feel 100% comfortable and people can recognize what lies under the surface. One of the best ways to do this, is through the correct use of color. Each color has its vibrational frequency and by matching the color that you wear with your vibrational frequency, you support and enhance your energy.

“In your culture, you tend to all dress the same — like a uniform — depicting that you ‘belong.’ This is OK, but you also need to show who you are. Let your colors and your clothes harmonize correctly with your vibrational frequency and you will be quite gratified at what happens next.”

Well, thank you, Howlite. I am quite gratified to receive such surprising and helpful insights from you, and clearly … next stop is “shopping!”

Thank you all for joining us here on The Schapera Show. Please join us again next month!
